7 New Ways to See Your Home Town

I called myself The Appreciative Traveler because I truly am very appreciative for all my travel opportunities I have experienced. I know that many, especially during challenging economic times, cannot travel. I would like to share my suggestions on making a unique travel experience in your own home town.

1 – Walk through a different neighborhood and notice (or photograph) unique lovely views.

2 – Find the oldest building in your area and spend some time looking at the details.

3 – Identify items you want see. For example a pretty garden, an antique car, a coloured mailbox, a unique door or a cat. Take walks or drives and seek those items. When you look with specific purpose, you see so much more.

4 – Find an interesting sign.

5 – Visit your favorite location and determine why it’s a special place.

6 – Visit your favorite restaurant or coffee shop and determine how you would describe it to someone who has never seen it.

7 – Retrace your favorite walk and capture images in your mind or with your camera.

Let me know if you tried any suggestions, how they turned out, or you want to share your own suggestions! Let’s build on the list!
